I had this gun in the shop a few weeks ago and replaced all of the fire control parts. All of the parts were properly prepped and a really nice, 2-pound trigger was the result. Owner of the Range Officer decided to add some customization and brought the pistol back to be machined.

First step was flat topping the slide. I will post more pictures as the work progresses.

Gregkl. I have been working on a lot of Range Officers lately - good platform for sure.

It is a great platform to modify especially if you find that one with the serious frame/slide fit. We have done several. I like them.
I currently have one the little resembles its original self.

    Keep us apprised please.

"Racing Stripes" have been added to the flat top. The look even better once they are finished. The variation of the widths in between the sets of lines is more pronounced after finishing.

    Thank you!

Ball cuts are done. One last thing to do to this slide when time allows and this slide will be done.

    Thank you!

Thanks for posting Andy. I enjoy seeing the work you and AllenM do.
I know my way around a mill and a lathe and appreciate the talent/art I see in these threads. I have some of it in my safe.

Thank you Churchmouse! I probably view more pictures like this and machine setups than any guy on the internet... Being a huge fan of all things firearms related, this is just another aspect of it.

Got some time to get back to this slide. I wanted to get some other mill work done with the head in tram before adjusting the angle to match the rear cocking serrations. The customer requested mill work is complete and it is off to be finished.

    Clean job Andy.
There's a lot of guns I will NOT buy because of the Graffiti.

Not intending to thread jack but.........RO's are a solid foundation to do about anything you wish to do.
This one started out with the normal mods and as time progressed and my trust in Allen expanded we came to this. It is a runner.
No roll marks. Slide has been lightened in every conceivable way. Clark barrel.

Churchmouse, that is an awesome looking racegun! Can you re-post it with a larger picture? Lots of detail there that I would like to see close-up!

Also, you are correct about the Range Officer series. I have seen quite a few lately and they have been a good platform for sure!

Thank you Churchmouse for posting some larger pictures. That is a really nice pistol. What grips are those?

I got those on a 1911 I bought from an Ingo member. I really like them but have no idea who makes/sells them.

And thanks for the kind words.
