I so need to try this out. I already have everything but the arm & hammer. My neighbor gave me some cast iron cook wear that are in some bad shape.

So I decided to try this out today. I didn’t go crazy building the tank. I already had everything laying around in the garage except the Arm & Hammer Super washing Soda. Took me about a half hour to throw it together. I’ll leave it in for 24+ hours. I’ll try to post pics tomorrow evening.

What it looked like after two hours.

I have done this many times. It works great. I rebuilt a late 50 drill press that was rusted beyond belief. The results were amazing. I ran just a few amps currant. The fewer the parts the faster the results.

And never mix the plus and minus. The results will be disastrous. But you can use it for an advantage if you want to etch metal. That can be pretty cool too.

Here are a couple before and after pics of one of my projects.

Used to do that for my pans. Oven on clean cycle has given same results and much less effort.
I tried that first because I’ve had good luck with it. I did help but it just couldn’t finish the job. If you have cast iron that has rusty spots that work great but these were to far gone for that. Also a grill works great to.

Here are are some that I used the grill.

They sat in the tank for 28 hours. All I had to do is hose them off and wipe them clean. Still need to season them.
