Well I'm not really sure I was shooting it and I heard something go ping and I saw something fly off the pistol.
It looks like it's missing a spring and a detent ball so I'll take it to him. By the way where is he located at?
And thank you for giving me the advice!
Mike Bellm is in Colorado. The repair is most likely a user level thing if you can get the parts. There are several hammers that have been used over the years on the original Contender, so knowing which hammer you have will be helpful. Post a picture of the hammer and I will see what I can find.
Starts on hammer around 1 minute mark.
Two ball bearings and spring between.........and screw in back.
So for the bearings to pop out, the selector had to move fwd, which means screw is backed out/missing.
The way I see it.
I sold all three of my easy open Gen 1 Contenders so have nothing to look at.
Thank You!
That is EXACTLY what happened!
That screw came out, I found it, but didn't find the 2 balls and the spring.
I'll track down t/C and see if they will sell me a spring and those 2 balls.
Man, I appreciate your help!
If you're close to me I'll buy you a coke/beer/coffee!
