This one was a 1 off, A little RIA compact, requested gold bead front sight. 2 challenges on this one though. 1 someone or maybe RIA did a proprietary front dovetail cut that I could not buy a blank to fit. 2nd the front sight needed to be .135 tall. very short.
Instead of buying a blank for this one since it would not fit any better then the plain black sights I already had in a drawer. I decided to modify one of those and buy a gold bead insert to install in that.
I had to remove .045 from the front sight blade. I indexed it in level while installed on the slide and milled off the excess.
Then after locating center, the sight was basically a square block .135x.135 I did a .125 contersink for the visable part of the bead then a .090 hole for the shaft.
