The acme firing pin company

So one of my buddies comes to me with these 2 firing pins, and says to me, "these are out of some hardware store brand side by side .410 shotgun, probably made in the 20's and I have owned it for the last 60 years, and for 50 of those 60 years the one firing pin has been broken......can you machine me up a pair of pins?"

Out to the shop I went, grabbed a couple shoulder bolts, there good steel, hardened, but machinable, and went to work.....

After I got done with this project, he then has the nerve to try to pay me......I told him "you just don't do friends that way" ok fine he says, and leaves a happy man.....came home from work the next day and found a N.O.S. bolt for my 03A3 in my mail box......

Agreed... I have no idea what goes into doing that or how it is done, but I can still appreciate the skills it must take.

I'm glad there are people smarter and more skilled than myself, or we'd all still be beating rocks together for most tasks.
