Have an old bolt action Marlin ,22 Magnum and the trigger pull is so heavy that one cannot shoot it accurately. Can a trigger job be done to it? Is it worth the bother and $$$ ?

I dont know which marlin you have, but I had an old Marlin 883SS that the trigger was literally about 9 pounds. I put spring's out of a bic pen in it, and it got down to a manageable weight.

Without knowing the model you're talking about, it will be hard for anyone to help much. That said if its a model 60 or 795 there's a company called Mcarbo that makes a trigger kit that is much improved over stock. Costs about $30 if i remember correctly

IIRC there is an aftermarket trigger for the bolt .22 mags, like 75 bucks.
Dunno how well it addresses the issue.

    Had a bolt Marlin.
    Trigger horrible.
    It was all gunked up.
Spring change and cleaning helped, but was not magic.

On my 917, I tried the ink pen spring thing and wasn't happy with it. Went with Rifle Basix and have been a rifle trigger snob ever since. :)
