Help with my Daly O/U trigger, gunsmith?

I have an older Charles Daly O/U in 12g with a balky trigger selector. It was used by a friend whom I don't think understood the safety/selector difference and roughed up the selector with too much force...I've taken a swing at it but can't seem to resolve it fully...I'd like a recommendation of a good gunsmith with some experience at such a thing if there's one out there...I'm fairly handy with this kind of thing but this one has thrown me...any guidance appreciated and thanks.

Can you explain "roughed up the selector" a little bit more? Have you checked out a good expoded parts diagram to make sure nothing is bent/broke /missing?

I meant the user was not a seasoned shooter and was "forcing" the safety when he couldn't quite get the hang of the chamber selector...I think the selector and the safety got together in the mugging, but I can't make it work reliably...I've had it apart and it isn't abundantly clear whats wrong...
