I am getting close to the 4000 round mark on my Stainless Springfield RO 9mm. Today I took it completely apart for a good cleaning and visual inspection of the pistol. Nothing looked out of the ordinary and everything is still nice and tight. I am wondering if I should replace the recoil spring and maybe even the firing pin spring at least? And if so, what lb spring for a 9mm? Any other sugestions on what to replace or keep a close eye on would be most helpful. The only mod I have done to this pistol is a 2 piece full length guide rod. Thanks. Jason

It would be a good time for a new recoil and firing pin spring. I believe 14 lbs is factory recoil spring weight on a government length 9mm.

I like to change springs approximately every 3000 rounds but more is ok too.

Other then that run it until something breaks. It should be good for many thousands more rounds.
