I had a Dawson ICE magwell on my single stack and felt like it was a little deep for quick, sure reloads but liked having the extra metal around the base as a index for my strong and weak hand. I couldn’t find one available so I decided to try my hand at making one.
I took some 5/16” aluminum, a cordless drill, a few files and some sandpaper and fashioned one that feels pretty good and doesn’t look all that bad. The mainspring housing was from a Wilson (or something) that was drilled and tapped.
It wasn’t too difficult, it just took a little planning and some time.
