    Is there an easy way of blacking an aluminum 1911 trigger?

    Product called alumablack works decent. Surface has to be completely clean and free of oxidation. Which means to get a good result you almost have to beadblast or use it on a freshly machined part.

    I have used the Alumablack on a hand guard that I cut down. It worked well, but took several applications.

    'Alumablack' should work just fine. To prep the trigger, wipe down with de-natured alchohol and let it air dry for an hour or so..... before working with the Alumablack.
