Some will say this is a waste of time, I'll agree. But I'll never have the nicest 1911, I may have the nicest glock40 by the time i finish this c9 tho. Still like putting a geo metro on the block at barrett jackson lol. i have never gone this deep in a handgun, will be fun to learn on. Hoping to work myself into 1911s and czs over the next 2 years. Look out Allenm and praff lolol

All hand tool build, files and sandpaper mostly. I'll break out the dremel once i get to the small bits. All of my metal working tools are in my tool box at work so I'm using files i found in the garbage of my grandpas estate.

Started as a 32 dollar property room auction pistol

This casting is rough... my hands are definitely going to hurt

Deep roll marks and tool marks. Trying to preserve the roll marks while getting a flat side by leveling and filing out the tool marks

It doesn’t seem like a waste of time to me. It’s better to practice on something you didn’t pay much for instead of something more costly. I bought some crappy Walmart knives to practice sharpening. I screwed up a couple and was only out $6.

Not much time tonight. I went to work on the fsp. I ended up cutting the cancer out and reprofiling. Heighht is unchanged so it should be fine. I will probably drill a hole and add a dot to the face.

Yeah I have seen that. Did you look at the pricing.........all I can say is...."Why"

To each their own of course. I had some serious turd 1911's I used to grind and hack away on.

On one hand, pretty sure it's a parody.

On the other, if you REALLY want one, I'm sure they could make a second for ya. ;)

Sometimes I wish some of the mistakes I have made over the years were on a Hi Point

OP do your thing and learn what you can from it.

I've seen a lot of people mill and polish their glock 40s but I've never seen anyone truly gucci one out like im planning on.

Good tools make all the difference so I'm using my real tools more rather than suffering with my street tools lol.
