I have a German Luger 9mm. It has a problem with cocking. I load the mag pull back on the bolt and it loads and cocks. When I shoot it the round fires, the empty is ejects, the new round loads and the gun does not cock. To fire it again I have to cock it by hand. Any ideas or is there someone in Northwest Indiana that can take a look at it.
    Thanks
    Jim

Before you dig into it, try different ammo. Lugers like heavier bullets with close to max charges of fast burning powder. It should cock first thing as the bolt goes back.

    Could be anywhere
And make sure you have a good grip. I've seen the same pistol cycle or not between different users...reliably. Good luck with yours; they are great guns.

How heavy of a bullet and at what charge?

I've had my best luck with 125 grain bullets and faster powders like Bullseye or 231. When you chamber the Luger manually you should here it click after the bolt has gone back about a half inch or so. Let the bolt back down and see if it is cocked by pulling the trigger.
