I use them. I take a small sheet, roll it up, and place it in the bore on my old WWII surplus rifles. They don't get used much, and I want to keep the bores from rusting. Works well.

I've re-used VCI paper to line the bottom of my toolbox with good results. I also use a ZERUST capsule in my safe, which I think is the same technology. If you don't care about the Smith & Wesson printing, you can get the paper in large quantities for significantly less per sheet from all sorts of other places on the web. One issue with purchasing in quantity though is the paper does finish outgassing after a period of time, so you can't really keep a box of paper on the shelf for 5 - 10 years and expect it to keep working. I'd be concerned that the auction is for expired, but unused Smith & Wesson packaging.

If you aren't looking at this as a Smith collector, another option is ZERUST has "Weapons Protection Bags" that are basically resealable plastic bags w/ the VCI material inside the bag.
