I spend a lot time working on guns, particularly 100+ year old revolvers that you just get used to the idea that all parts have soft edges. Finished up a Colt SAA made in 1956 this weekend and was surprised by the sharpness of the steel corners, even cut my finger on one part, an indication that the revolver hasn't seen much use. Time and constant disassembly take their toll on freshly machined pieces.:)

    Ah, nice!

I had an old ~1978 Uberti Cattleman Stallion in 22WMR that was a real basket case. I've thought about trying to get the sand paper / grinder marks out of it. I wasn't sure where to begin so gave it away.

I'd love to hear what all you have done with your pistols and where you find your parts. [edit - I'm pretty sure I can get parts for mine via Taylor's.]

I get parts from a lot of places, VTI gun parts should have everything you want for anything Uberti makes. Old Colt parts often come from Ebay, Peacemaker Specialist, and Jacks First.

Buffing steel just takes time and the right compounds.

Appreciate the comments but the only repair I did for this one was replace and time a bad hand and spring.

Others like this 1st gen gun required more work, parts and a complete refinish.
