Been thinking about doing one for a while, now I have a friend that isn't typically a big gun guy that wants to do one as well.

Have access to a nice mill, lathe & he knows how to use them. Would a jig still be a benefit?

Sorry if the questions are somewhat ignorant, I know what a mill & lathe are but other than a brake lathe have never operated one myself.

What are some of the better choices in the 80% arena?

    Thanks in advance.

From what I recall, LEGALLY you can do it for yourself. I don't know how the law is if someone does it for you. I "think" that's manufacturing and that's a no no.

BUY THE JIG. Worth every penny when you think of the headache of messing one up.

Jigs make it "almost" fool proof.

Take your time. Use sharp bits.

And, if you can avoid it....don't use a Dremel.

I did one from I got from ZR Tactical. My buddy had the jig and router. He walked me through it, but I did it all. I now have his tools so I can do another, or two, on my extended time off!
