The hammer on my New Model Single Six will not stay back on full cock. It just springs forward when you let go. Does anyone know if this is a common problem or what internal part might need replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sorry, don't have a fix for you, but contact Ruger customer support and they should be able to help you. They have an excellent CS group.

Have not heard of this being a “common” problem at all, but Ruger should fix you up.

If i recall correctly it's possible to install the hammer strut reversed (xr-15) which limits the hammer travel. I could be mistaken about which ruger I did this to. Diagram shows correct assembly.
