- SOLD! 1978 Light weight Colt Commander Custom by Allen M
- Price dropped to $800. cash.
- I will not consider trades, CASH only!
He went through this gun and installed a "gunsmith" fit Kart National Match barrel & bushing, Ed Brown extractor, slide stop and firing pin stop along with a very nice beaver tail grip safety. The trigger is a nice carry trigger at 4.5 lbs.
The front strap is checkered 25 LPI. Allen told me that checkering an aluminum frame is no easy feat!
Checkered flat mainspring housing.
Two tone Cerakote with aluminum grips Cerakoted to match the slide.
Low profile Novak style sights, fiber optic front sight.
The slide has been tri topped with a Hi Power cut in front and a lower edge reveal. This in combination with the alloy frame makes for a very nice light 45 for carry.
The gun runs extremely well and is nice and tight, Accuracy is excellent.
This had a problem though when he got it. the firing pin hole was so far off center that it would not always ignite the primer. He pocketed the breach face and made a plug and converted it to a 9mm firing pin while he was at it. Converting to a 9mm firing pin is often done to prevent primer flow that can happen with the larger diameter .45 firing pin.
