I had never heard of this model so I also had to look it up. All I can find is it is similar to a 4003, but has a blued slide instead of a stainless one.
I have a 4003TSW and love it. It is very dependable and hasn't let me down yet. After I got the 4003TSW I became very fond of the 3rd generation S&W. Hopefully one of these days I will get to add a few more of these to my collection. I'd really love to get ahold of a 4013TSW to to along with the 4003TSW.
Your 4004 should be a good gun and serve you well for many years.

I have a 4006 and shoot it all the time. Love it. Was my EDC (Seriously, I mean it. I had a very stiff belt. With suspenders.) until I got a P228.

I don't know anything about these but I have looked at the 4003 model in a shop and was very tempted to pick it up. As I understand your version is the same but blued.

Check with Bud's for mags. I had a 4043 and got a ten pack of mags for around $50. I recommend calling as I somehow googled to the deal but could never find it through their website.
