    Only one and it wasn't great, but that was because of the gun, not the round. It was being fired out of a 2" Ruger Alaskan. Too much round for not enough gun IMO.

    The only downside to the .480 round IMO is the lack of a special or another round that it can fire. But if that is what you use, you can get setup to reload for it and make shooting it a whole lot cheaper.

    The round should drop a deer no problem if you do your part.

    .480 Ruger is a .475 Linebaugh Special. :D

    It will go through deer like so much butter.

    Thanx folks. That's what I wanted to hear. I would say this one is set up with a 7 1/2" barrel. I feel your pain about that snubby stuff. No thanks. This ain't a ccw shooter.

    Got one, great for deer, Ruger Super Redhawk, .480, 7.5 bbl, wearing burris 2x7

    The 6 shot Alaskan in the .480 is on my wish list :draw:
