Help me I.D this old gun

Looks cool...did it start life out as a pistol? Or homemade handgrip? I can't seem to find anything else like it

All I can make out on the Barrel is that its a Marlin. Doesn't look to be a hack job to me ?

I can't quite tell.....if I had to guess though, I'd say that somebody did some work on an old rifle that probably had a broken/cracked stock and turned it into this. I don't think Marlin made anything like this.

Flayderman's guide to antique firearms has nothing close to it, could be a hybrid, Marlin barrel, and some other action...jmho

Looks like a rifle crafted into a pistol ,especially at the rear of the trigger gaurd

A little fishing line wrapped around the grip, some sinkers, a hook and a bobber and you got a duel purpose firearm there. fish and protect yourself from Gators.
