I'm totally open minded about getting a 45 and want to have it for a concealed carry weapon. Reliability is essential and the ability to conceal. I have a G26 and love it and would like something similar in size. I have checked out the G30 and if the G26 is a fat bastard then the G30 is an obese MF! Maybe a G36 SF but I'm open and looking for other alternatives/suggestions. I have a couple of 9mm's and am looking to try out the 45 arena if I can find something suitable. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

You might want to see how a Kimber Pro Raptor feels in your hand. I love mine and it a relatively easy carry if a bit on the heavy side.

The best 45 for CCW is one that is fully loaded with a chambered round.

I prefer a government model 1911 that is cocked, locked, and ready to rock.

I would second the Kahr's...they're awesome guns with great customer service.............another excellent choice(s) would be a couple 1911 designs.....Springfield EMP, Colt New Agent.....the new agent's generally don't have big exposed sight which can get caught on clothing and things.....but these are just a few personal preferences up for suggestion

    Kahr PM45. Regret selling

Glock 36sf Regret selling slightly less than the Kahr because I don't like Glock triggers and the grip angle doesn't work for me.

1911's... I love em. Or rather, love to look at, fondle and shoot them. Just don't like carrying. I don't trust myself to be able to flip safety off upon draw if the need should arise. Nor do I have the facilities to train enough to do the same.

The only 45 I carry now is my Beretta PX4 fullsize. But if you're looking for CCW, that aint it, though it's not bad. I keep eyeballing others but the majority are of the 1911 flavor. If someone made an identically-framed single stack DA/SA without external safety, I'd be on it.

Save for weight, 1911 is an easy platform to conceal.

My first vote goes to the Kahr PM45.
