I gave Bradis some money today... bought a Russian 1895 7.62 Nagant revolver. Pretty cool thing, I like how it uses a 7.62x38mmR cartridge, the projectile is seated below the mouth of the cartridge, with the cartridge crimp sitting just above the bullet. Pricey on the ammo though about 30 bucks for 50 rounds, but I bought it mainly just as a collectors item. This one was made in 1944 and was issued to a Russian officer.

I've seen them in the past several months when I go in, never paid any attention... but today they had a Dragunov I wanted, and I really didn't want to spend 800 bucks (although I've been trying to get a Dragunov for about 2 years now) so I talked myself into the Nagant revolver instead, and if anyone else is interested Bradis still had 3 in the case when I left, and I imagine more in back as he said they bought a 'ton' of them a while back.

    I shoot .32 S&W Long in mine.
Century has the Hot Shot brand of ammo 7.62x38 for $18/50 rd box.

SOG has the Nagant Pistols for $69.

Draganov? Is it a Real Draganov or Romanian PSL?
    PSL's are $699 at SOG.

They have an interesting history like the Mosins do. For instance, yours was made in Ishevsk at the "new" Tula factory that they moved to after having to abandon the original factory in October of 41 due to the invading Germans.

The "rare" Nagant to find for this time period is the 1942. Tula made only 15,485 of them in 1942. I have a 41 Tula of which 118,453 were made.

Since you seem to know some interesting things about them... have any links to share?

Yes to shooting the 32 S&W long in the Nagant without the replacement cylinder. The case will swell but the long has low pressures and shouldn't be a problem.

So is the proper designation 7.62x38 Nagant or 7.62x38mmR... I keep seeing both being thrown around on the web and it appears 7.62x38 Nagant is correct, as that is what the cartridges I bought say. (I'm just trying to see if I can find the stuff cheaper online then what Bradis had it for, if I'm going to wn a gun... no matter if the ammo is common or the most exotic, I want at least 500 rounds for it... 50 down, 450 to go)

I have considered one myself and if I saw one for $90 locally, it would likely go home with me. I'm not looking, but really, if I see one...
