I recently acquired a Colt 1917 New Army revolver chambered in .45 ACP.

The gun is in half way decent shape, but has a few odd issues. for some reason, the previous owner took a file to the hammer and filed out the section behind the firing pin. So, it needs a new hammer (and firing pin/firing pin rivet). Someone also filed off the "property of US Government" marking on the underside of the barrel, which really detracts from the coolness of the weapon. Everythig else seems fine.

My question should be obvious by now, but does anyone know where one could obtain these parts? I've looked at Numrich and all the other common places. Sarco has a barrel (NOS) for $250, but I can't find a hammer. Also, does anyone know if any other models form that era used the same hammer?

That's a good website, thanks. Unfortunately they don't have any hammers. I'm wondering if the one for the New Service .38 uses the same hammer, because I've seen a couple of those for around $60 (and from what I've read, they're the same gun in a different caliber).
