I've been curiously following the evolution of red dot optics on defensive handguns since they first made the jump from the competition world several years ago. As expected, such an idea was first met with scoffs and doubt. Now we're seeing them crop up more and more on defensive handguns. I don't think they're out of the woods yet, as we still don't have a purpose-built optic for handguns, and today's mounting solutions aren't very streamlined, but there has certainly been some forward progress made.
Firearms trainer Chris Costa recently put out a series of YouTube videos on pistol sights. Part of that series dealt with red dot optics. I thought they were worth sharing with INGOers. Enjoy.
