Ammo is not exactly plentiful nor inexpensive. But mechanically, they're usually found to be in good reliable condition.

Are you looking at the it for the cylinder gap that closes when fired? Hickok45 has a video on that model. Complete with hot dog test.

The $100 ones are pretty well gone, but they can be had for $150-$200 pretty easily on Gunbroker. Ammo can be had at Southern Ohio Guns and RGuns.

They are not a bad revolver if you don't try to shoot double action. The double action trigger pull has got to be close to 20# on them with all the work of moving the cylinder it does. But, it's better than having no gun at all and in a pinch, can shoot .32 S&W if I remember correctly.

I know that cylinders chambered for other calibers like 32acp have been offered for them and yes you can shoot 32 SW Long and 32 SW Short and also 32 HR Mag in them as they are but folks say to expect all bulged and some split cases.
Just curious , can you reveal what it is you look to prove to your buddy?
It is pretty cool to cycle one and watch the cylinder cam forward.

    Good Luck!

They are interesting revolvers, wouldn't mind getting one of my own. I am still mystified that the Russkies thought carrying this anemic handgun into battle was a good idea. ??

I wouldn't mind having one to use as a suppressor host. But all it would ever be to me is a range toy that gets taken out once or twice a year just to prove you can suppress a revolver.

The thought is that he claims old revolvers are not reliable and the fact that its cheap to buy and shoot (I have plenty 32sw short for the webleys. We are just curios to see how the ww1/ww2 revolvers stack up next to each other. I have a colt 1917, the webleys, sw top break, and a colt single action. His claim is the Russians always had the short end of the stick. We've done the test with the 1911,webley, tokerov, papa nagu , walther p38 and Luger. Even put dads broom handle mauser in there for fun. Btw most accurate was the mauser followed by p38 then 1911

I just made my first Nagant revolver ammo tonight. Works perfect!! Used 32-20 star line brass, lee dies that reform the 32-20 to a shorter version of the Nagant brass. 4 gr of nitro 100, and a Sierra 90 gr .312 JHP. Had to seat it a little deep to clear but not crazy deep. They fire just like the 7.62x38r prvi that I have, pretty much the same recoil and noise. Case came right out, no bulge and no cracks. I hear that most of the time, you have to do a very slight mod to the gun to get it to cock with the 32-20 brass, but mine works great as it is.

I have one but it shoots high about a foot at 25 feet. I believe the crown is not perpendicular to the barrel on mine. Cool pistola though.

I really like mine. Great shooter with very little recoil. Miserable DA trigger, but SA is tolerable. I honestly don't know why I don't shoot it more. Its kinda fugly by revolver standards, but it goes bag every time. I wish I had picked up two when they were cheaper. I'd love to havey barrel threaded for a suppressor... if you get one I don't think you'd regret it!

Fun little gun. Not too long ago, I watched them in my local shop for sale around $100.00 with holster, cleaning rod Ect. I decided to finally get one and the price on them had doubled. Expect to pay somewhere around $250.00 for a decent one. I like mine a lot. It shoots decent. Tough little revolver, it's made out of Stalinium.

Should make a great rabbit gun. Wouldn't have to load it down so much like with .38's and .45's.

They make a .32 cylinder for these and someplace on line there are guys that post videos of putting a suppressor on them. Since the cylinder mover forward flush to fire the ONLY sound you hear is the click of the hammer. REAL neat.

Aim Surplus just had some for$189 but are sold out now. I had one a few years ago. They are very accurate and a blast to shoot. Ammo is hard to find and not cheap. I would get one now as they will only continue to become more rare and escalate in price, if you can find one.

AIM Surplus had that same deal again this week. My 1922 Nagant revolver arrived today, along with 100 rounds of ammo for it. Total, including shipping was $252.xx. Not a bad deal. And that DA trigger pull may be more than 20#.
