Picked it up from my lgs this morning. Nice case with all the usual Springfield gear. I can't wait to shoot it. Yes, I already put a scratch on it putting the takedown lever back on. :(

The scratch is no big deal. It had to happen some day. Now it is over with. Now you can use it till it has more. The next one wont hurt as much. Very nice pistol.

Not debilitating but it certainly doesn't have to happen, doesn't happen on any of mine.

Sweet looking weapon there. It's primary purpose is to shoot not look pristine. Look at it this way now you can say you have a 1 of a kind as now no one else out there has a identical scratch on there's.

Very nice!! I would like to find similar grips for a Hi-Power. That's Hi-Power, not Hi-Point, for those that are easily confused.:):

Handled one of these a few weeks ago.

Took everything in me to not purchase.

    Congrats.

totally an idiot mark. I was not very happy with myself. Could not seem to get the slide stop in due to the plunger and I put too much pressure pushing that direction and....

Beautiful looking 1911! Always love the look of a classic, parkerized pistol. The springfields are great shooters, too. If I were in your shoes and did decide to refinish it, I'd probably just go with a repark, but that's because I'm more a fan of the old school rather than anything against the newer finishes.
