    All,

I am looking for any information regarding the 3 revolvers in the attached album. I do not care about what they are worth(but still interested), more interested in age, model number or if there is anything special about them. I have had good luck finding information about S&Ws in the past but am struggling with these three.

    1. The first one is a 6 inch barrel 38 special, 6 round cylinder. The inside frame(inside cylinder release) is 9764(about 95%, but it could also be 9754). The number on the grip is 460152.

    2. The second one is a 4 inch 22 LR with 6 round cylinder. Inside the frame is a large 6, with smaller 43809 beneath, then a larger 6 under that. Under the grip is 8702.

The third is a 3 inch 38 special with 5 round cylinder. Inside the frame is Mod. 36. Under the grip is 992J93. Obviously this one is a a model 36, but I have been unable to determine its age or how rare it is. It also has a set of original wood grips.

Here is the link to the photos. Unfortunately I am out of town without my pc so I cannot imbed the pictures.

there may be Smith wheel gun experts a'plenty on here, but if they aren't, hit up Kernel Crittenden on the S&W forum revolver section. He'll have more info than you'd believe was available.

The bottom pic, second from the right. Does that say "mod 66"? I'm not sure how long they've had the practice, but now they record the model in the crane. Open the revolver cylinder out, look near where it pivots.

    .
Your top revolver is known as a Hand Ejector and there were various changes in this model over it's history. Good solid 38SP. It's the ancestor of the K frame guns. Your second I think is what's known as the 22/32 kit gun, never owned one so I'm less sure of this. The last one is a Model 36, nice nickle and grips!

Your 1st one is a Model of 1905 4th change most likely made in the somewhere in the 20's or early 30's
The 2nd is a 1953 .22/32 kit gun most likely made in 1953 due to the low SN
    The 36 about 70-71

As Leadeye said, the third one is a 3" nickel model 36. I have one with mother of pearl grips also. I found the carved dragon grips on ebay and then went searching for a gun they would fit on.

Leadeye has it right. None of them have any great collector value, but the .22/32 kit gun and model 36 are still desirable as shooters for wheel gun enthusiasts. I used to own a model 36 just like the one shown, except for the grips. It was a good shooting carry gun. Definitely join the S&W forum and let them talk your ear off about these revolvers. If you are thinking of selling them, the folks on the S&W forum will be the best place to get the most value for them.

On the M&P and 22/32 under the right grip will be the sn and if they match, they are the original grips. The 22/332 should be stamped and the M&P may be stamped or written in pencil. S&W did this so they made sure the correct grips got back on the right gun after bluing because the grips were on the gun during polishing. The M&P should have the SN on the back of the cylinder and on the barrel flat also.

Thanks all, very much appreciated. These were found at my grandma's house when she passed away. My mother wanted the model 36 and I got the 22/32. Very much looking forward to doing a thorough cleaning and shooting it.

Depending on the condition of the M&P if it is a 4th change< and the grips are # to the gun and in excellent shape the grips alone would be worth @$100 the gun if 95%could bring $450-600 depending on the condition .If in lower condition $300- 400
