    Just checking does the LCR 9 mm still use moonclips? I was out at A local big box retailer and was told that they did not need them and he had sold hundreds of them. I've looked at a couple and thought they used them

    It will fire, yes. It will not be able to eject the empties, though. You will have to open the cylinder and poke them out manually with a cleaning rod or something.

    Yep...that's effectively a no to going without the moon clips.
    To the OP, just remember that the main rationale for a 9mm (or .45 ACP) double action revolver is to give the shooter the fastest, most reliable, and most compact speed loader available.

    But make sure u wear the appropriate safety gear & always keep the weapon pointed in a safe direction.

    not sure if it would work with the 9mm Federal Rimmed case or not but that would be one way to avoid having to use moon clips. Starline occasionally make a run of this brass or you can simply use Starlin 38 S&W brass trimmed slightly.
