I'm looking these two but I'm really leaning toward the Springfield, but I like the idea of a Colt 1911. Any opinions on the two I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
I'll have to go with the Springfield.
I have multiple of each and the service and support from Springfield is unbeatable by far.
My OLDER Colts are fantastic guns. My newer Colts are very average.
Colt name holds better value but you will pay that difference up front.
Handle all choices and compare fit and finish.
DON'T buy either with out hands on.
Colt Combat Unit is a very nice piece. Ion bond finish, front strap checkering and the M45 rail, what's not to love. Colt's quality in these new pistols is excellent. Buy with confidence.
Plainfield Shooting has quite a few 1911s I was in there Saturday, and Bob had a pretty good selection ended up taking home a Colt Delta Elite 10mm. He had a used Springfield TRP looked very good can't remember the price though. He has Colts,Springers,Ruger,Sig, RIA. I did not notice a Colt rail gun, well then again he may have had one, if not sure he could order what you want. I have known Bob a long time, great man to do business with good prices and good selection of guns.
I had a Colt rail gun last year, and regrettably traded it for a rifle I wanted. It was very reliable and I had no issues at all. I am sure you would be happy with a CRG if you decide on it.
Luckily I found a Combat Elite recently to replace my CRG. I don't need the rail so it is almost perfect for me. I might have to send it off to have some night sights installed and the front strap checkered.
Both were made in the last few years and no QC issues with either.
