My first 1911. Guess I'm going to have to get used to "cocked and locked". $1400, around 500rds through it, only came with 1 mag. Looking for recommendations on holsters, mags(I know WC are gtg, any others? Ones to avoid?) and anything else a newbie 1911 owner should have.

Very nice! That's quite a jump into the 1911 world though, congrats!

Looking at the pics it looks like your barrel may have some pesky orange debris in it!

Well u definitely jumped in to the deep end of the 1911 pool right off the bat. Usually it takes a couple lower end 1911 pistols before a shooter goes all in for a Baer or Wilson to get rid of whatever shortcomings the lower end 1911 may have. I have been using Wilson and kimber mags in my 3 1911 Springfields and one came with 6 7 shot mags I believe are made by metalform and they have also ran great. I think you did alright and you will become a 1911 cocked and locked fan and you didn't waste your money on a colt that would require a ton of work to perform at an equivalent level to your Baer. I would suggest an hooch or raven kydex owb or Iwb holster but be warned kydex is a little rough on finishes but it is a great holster material. Congrats on Baer it should serve you well.

Congrats on the new gun. I've had good luck with the Wilson 47Ds and my favorite holster is a Kramer scabbard in horsehide. That holster holds the pistol nice and tight against you and is impervious to water. It's like the best qualities of leather were combined with the best qualities of Kydex. They are not cheap and take about 10 weeks to order, but are worth the money and wait.

I would go with the Wilson magazines. Baer has magazines too, however, they look like Wilsons. 47D 7 round mags. Basically indestructible, easy to maintain and change springs and followers. Holsters, well that's another story. The fun is in the shopping.
