What fore grips are legal to add? I know vertical grips are a no, but I would rather not have an AOW

Are angled fore grips considered ok?
Are XTM, or other hand stops ok?

The Magpul AFG & the such are legal, as are hand stops that are to stop your fingers / hand from going too far forward / give you a pushing point to aid with muzzle flip.

    Clear as mud, right?

I used the Magpul AFG on my pistol build. My understanding is this is legal on a pistol, for now at least, lol.

I would think it would be no different than an AK or other rifles with folding stocks where OAL would be determined with the stock unfolded. Per everything I've read it is also accepted practice to measure OAL with a collapsible stock fully extended.

OAL requirements are figured with things in their fully collapsed state.
    Fully collapsed or fully extended?

For instance, I thought the AK under folders had their "OAL" calculated with the stocks extended.

    ATFHandbookSection2.1.5 said:
NOTE: One version of the Marble’s Game Getter was produced with 18-inch barrels and a folding
shoulder stock. This model of the Game Getter, as manufactured, is not subject to the provisions of the
NFA because it has barrels that are 18 inches in length and the overall length of the firearm, with stock
extended, is more than 26 inches. However, if the shoulder stock has been removed from the 18-inch
barrel version of the Game Getter, the firearm has an overall length of less than 26 inches and is an
NFA weapon. Specifically, the firearm is classified as a weapon made from a rifle/shotgun.

Not saying the answer has to make sense or even be consistent, just expressing my understanding. :)
