I have been thinking about upgrading my Gen 4 19 trigger. I am looking for advice on who has done this, what is recommended and who on here could install it for me. I'm located between Lafayette and NWI. Also, I would like to install night sights and have these two upgrades done at the same time.

I've got 2 Gen4 19s and have done the same mods to each.
Both have 3.5lb connectors and I had Jason Elmore install trigger stops in both.
The trigger stops do a very good job keeping the gun from jumping after it fires.

I installed the ghost options. I found them in a store when I was traveling. They are ok. It was only like $20 so my hopes weren't that high, but they weren't bad.
You might check bell precision rifles here in IN. I've heard he does great trigger work.

Just curious, why do you say this?

If for some reason you have to use your EDC for defense, and you have modified your weapon, the attorneys will crucify you for tuning your weapon to be more destructive that the manufacturer intended it to be. Also if you are in a situation where you had to use your EDC, you will be in an adrenal rush, and your modified trigger will be much easier to fire than the factory trigger.

I have taken several courses and the first thing they tell you is NEVER modify your carry weapon or the courts will not look on your weapon favorably.

    Who taught these courses?

Ayoob, among others is of this opinion. It's just one more thing you may have to "explain" that you can easily factor out by not modifying the trigger on your carry gun. Depends on your risk tolerance and desire to mitigate potential legal risk. It is a subject that has come up in court cases before. It's not hypothetical.Coup

    Couple of reference links:

As usual Ayoob goes a little too far for my tastes, BUT as I have mentioned before, I have a lot of respect for him always posting evidence to back up his claims. Can a modification be a problem? Yes. Is it likely to? Not that often. As you mentioned, how much of a chance do you want to take.

My main reason for not heavily modifying the trigger system on a carry gun is not liability, but REliability. Yes I know you (generic) have shot a million rounds through your gun with the 1lb springs and flat trigger and have never had a problem, that has not been the overwhelming evidence I have witnessed.

What are you using the gun for, and what kind of "upgrade" are you looking to get?

I've shot a zev that had more than just the trigger but all of the rearward components as well. I think that is what really makes something shine, so maybe don't go Zev but a company that does the entire thing would be my route. Otherwise and in all seriousness my favorite thing to do for a glock trigger is buy a case of ammo.

I'm pretty much with you on this. I polish everything and use a 3.5# connector. Also do like trigger stops, they fix what I have trouble with.

Part of the whole Glock thing for me is keeping them all close to similar. A tiny bit of personalised trigger smoothing is OK, but I wouldn't want to specialise so much that I end up not being able to shoot a bone stock trigger well.

I need to be able to put rounds over your shoulder to brain shoot the attacker holding you with any Glock.
