Saw a Colt 22 "display" type of model for $300 or $350 and would buy it if I thought it could be used as a "plinker," but when I found one months ago, I was told both ways that it would be suitable for my type of use (just wanted to get the Colt name).
The gun said that the "gold" was coming off.

If I got any encouragement that these type of guns held up well, I'd get it.

This is what the ad said:
Colt Frontier Scout California Bicentennial. Gold finish has worn off. $300 firm

Would I be better off getting a:
Ruger Single Six 22lr and 22wmr for $350?

    or
Ruger 22 cal Single six for $325?

    Any input appreciated.
    I love anything .22

I have an expensive Heritage single action I bought for $110
and a Ruger GP100 SS, 10 shot for $600 (my big splurge).

Sold a Smith Victory: didn't enjoy it. love revolvers. :dunno:

Does this gun have the normal lifetime warranty?

Are these "commemorative guns not made as good as the "regular" Colt .22s and are not meant for serious use since they are made as a "collectible?"

Well, no help on this question, but I went back and read my thread where I had found one of these before, and decided to pass on it: too many complaints about the commemoratives.
    I found a Ruger Single 6 for a price I could live with ($300).
