OWB Holster for SW SD9VE - Recommendations

I’m trying to help a friend who inherited this Smith from his father in law. He’s been to indoor range a few times and handle his weapon safely. He’s mentioned wanting to try IDPA, so I’ve been looking for an OWB holster for him and have only come across the Uncle Mikes. Read some posts that glock holsters would fit, but they don’t! sbO here at INGO confirmed the Uncle Mikes and some IWBs, but I’m hoping someone on the forum has additional experience...

Thanks Bigtanker! sbO mentioned he was looking at a Vedder IWB. When it came up on my search, I skipped it thinking it was only an IWB supplier. Should have known they would have an OWB. Mental Head Slap!

I think that most holsters for the full size M&P will fit the SD series.
At least, every leather or kydex holster that I have ever tried (and I have too many) will work with either.

I know my Foxx hybrid IWB I ordered for my SD9 fit the 45c I bought later perfectly.

Quite a few leather holsters will work for various guns. One of the main reasons I never get rid of a leather holster.
