So its been over 6 months and I can not make myself like the xs big dot sights, not saying they are bad sights but for me I can not make them work. So I have narrowed it down to possibly 3 options,

1 switch out the rear sight with a 10-8 U notch

2 put on a set of strait 8 Night Sights

3 replace both front and rear sights (front Brass bead) rear (u notch)

    Thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks

I'm in a minority but I really like basic low profile combat sights for self defense.

No dots or anything. I'm not a "target" or "bullseye" shooter and for self defense I feel they are adequate. 8" plates on a dueling tree at 15-20 yards all day, no problem.

I don't really shoot any other sight I've tried better.

I put a set of Fusion LDA's in the order slot today for the custom 10mm we are building. I have seen/used them but never owned a set. I am wanting to like them.

This is what I would get for a defensive gun (since you cant buy the Dan Wesson "combat ledge" sights)

Sure you can. I have bought several of them. Just go to the Dan Wesson site. Last I looked you could get a rear with the single dot or 2 dots.

Here is a single amber dot Dan Wesson
Rear sight on one of my Colt Wiley Clapp government's. The Dan Wesson rear sight is a standard Novak cut. If I remember correctly the front sights are not a Novak cut though.

Same sight on my Colt Delta

I did not know that, for some reason I thought both the front and rear sights were a proprietary cut. Based on this new information I would 100% recommend getting the Dan Wesson "Combat Ledge" sights.
