I love mine. It's so old-school in this age of striker-fired poly guns. No rail and heavy (compared to the poly guns). But an oh-so-reliable tack-driver.

Several DOJ teans still use the 228 with some newer 229's just bow starting to replace them. I was issued the same 228 for over a decade. Other than the night sight dimming it ran and ran.

I have owned a variety of striker guns and always continued to rely on DA/SA Sigs for defense. I would trust a Glock or M&P but always chose the Sig.

Does your P228 have the old style full length main spring? Consider changing it to the polymer base with the shorter springs and use a reduced rate spring.
