Just realized I do not have a Government 1911! Some of the desired features are magwell, night sights, Front strap checkering. I prefer to stay with series 70. Despite political blunders the TRP seems to be one of the better options in my price range sub $1400.

Agreed. TRP or MC Operator. Also could find a good used deal on a Dan Wesson.

Get a Dan Wesson Specialist in stainless they can be had frequently for around $1500, railed , mag well, great night sights, no MIM at all plus their fit and finish is better than a TRP ever will be at least in my opinion.
