    CZ SP-01 Shadow 2 Black & Blue - $1,099.99

    PRECISION RACE GUN!!
The Angry Cardinal says: "The CZ SP-01 Shadow 2 has a higher beavertail than the original Shadow, and an undercut trigger guard , the shooter’s hand is able to be as close to the bore axis as possible. With a contoured slide, the majority of the reciprocating mass is also centered on the bore, equating to less muzzle flip. Increased weight at the dust cover/rail also helps keep the muzzle down. The Shadow 2's swappable magazine release has an adjustable, extended button with three settings to allow shooters to set it to the most comfortable position. The new trigger components give smooth double action and crisp, clean single action while drastically reducing trigger reset. A sturdy nitride coats the entire pistol, leaving it nearly impervious to corrosion, while the frame has an additional layer of CZ's black polycoat finish. Thin blue aluminum grips have checkering to match the fine front and backstrap checkering of the pistol. On top of the slide are a set of target sights — fiber optic on front and a serrated, black HAJO rear, which are click adjustable.

    Now that is funny!
I deserve that, but I'm really there with this gun: I'm in love with it! (hope that isn't too strong )

I love reading that I have "the" gun for my level:

Like its predecessor, the original SP-01 Shadow, the Shadow 2 is built upon the CZ 75 platform with a pure focus on competition. The slide is actually contoured to focus the recoil impulse more closely to the centerline of the bore, and the full-length dust cover adds weight up front to assist with recoil.

With this new iteration, the slide and barrel have been extended about half an inch for a longer sight radius and to add additional weight to assist with recoil mitigation. Also adding extra weight to the mix is a full-length steel guide rod that is incorporated rather than a plastic guide rod, as found in the original.

Shadow 2 with a higher beavertail along with checkered front- and backstraps, and a relief cut under the triggerguard for a higher purchase on the firearm. While these modificationss were intended to assist with the user’s purchase on the weapon, other steps were taken to improve a shooter’s handling as well.

First, the Shadow 2 comes with two styles of interchangeable safeties. One is a flat, low-profile safety that, to be honest, is a little tough to engage quickly. It’s hard to get a get purchase on it, and it’s a bit mushy feeling. The other style is an extended thumb safety which, though it adds a little extra width, is much easier to engage in the field.

First and foremost, the trigger pull on the Shadow 2 was nothing short of magnificent. This compliment is made with no exaggeration, as the trigger must be tried to be believed. The trigger on the sample I received broke at 8.46 pounds in DA mode and 2.71 pounds in SA mode. The SA pull may be a bit light for defensive work, but it certainly provides an edge for the serious competitor.

The superb texturing on the Shadow 2 ensured a locked-down grip on the pistol, and the forward-heavy weight of the full dust cover and stainless steel guide rod helped mitigate recoil to a significant degree. Even hotter ammunition did little to bring the gun’s muzzle up and off target. In addition, the felt recoil was nearly negligible, allowing for very fast follow-up shots—a key to winning.

I followed advice a member gave me and did more shooting consecutively with just one gun, and I did that this evening and will post on my Range thread, but I can't help but putting my Shadow 2 examples here:

Shadow 2 at 30' with three 17 rounds and two 5 rounds:

I really tried concentrating on my trigger pull so as not to have an outlier. I surprised myself and was so pleased, since I rarely shoot at 40', but since "K" with the backyard range made me shoot at 66' and I lived, I thought the Shadow 2 should go out further.

OP: Now its time to start trying different types, weights, etc of ammo and see what you can group the best.

    1. There is always something more!
    2. So mean I can't just keep buying the cheapest ammo I can find?
    3. I just ordered some CCI Blazer (I think).

    1. I know what I'm thinking: it's the gun.
    2. It has the weight, recoil and etc that I've not had before.
    3. And: I got some "coaching" from some great guys here.
    4. I would start mentioning them by name, but if I left anyone out I'd be embarrassed, but there are about 5 guys that gave me tips, with Rhino very concentrated range training time and "K" (with the backyard range), then there was gmcttr who had me come down to Columbus to a range (where he gave me a taste of a Shadow 2 that changed my life).
    5. Trigger control, trigger control, trigger control, AND hand position!
    6. I am very grateful for the help of some guys here that I hope take pleasure in taking a guy that had been away from shooting for 35 yrs. and started out buying Taurus 709 Slim and Ruger LC9 type of guns and helped him mature to a CZ SHADOW 2.
    7. I'm actually feeling emotional about it b/c I'm naturally a very grateful person and in my life I'm used to helping others instead of being helped.

I mean right now I am all aboard the Tactical Sport Orange train, but dollar for dollar the Shadow 2 is one of the best pistols currently being made IMHO , here is some Shadow 2 porn for those amongst us that have not pulled the trigger on one yet, notice the sweet sweet 1911 style 25LPI front and back strap checkering too, its really nice
