    I might want a 10mm ?

It would need to be concealcarryable here are my choices so far.

    1. Glock 20sf $464.20

    2. Glock 29sf $464.20

    3. Colt Delta Elite $1000.00

    4. Ruger 1911 $720.00

    5. Dan Wesson “Razorback” $1300

Price wise the Glock is a winner but I am not much of a Glock person. The 1911’s are nice but I could buy both the Glocks for about the same as the 1911’s?
Should I get a Glock with a pile of ammo?
    So what’s the INGO opinion?

If you take the Glocks out of the picture then the Ruger stands out as the best bang for the buck. Those that have them seem to like them of course I believe that for the most part those are 45 and 9mm versions.

I have a 10mm Ruger and it’s a winner. I had AllenM do a little magic to it, but for a out of the box 10mm, it would be my top choice of the list you put together.

All are fine and will work fine. Depends on what your carry preferences are in regard to striker and SAO carry.

Of those options, I would personally go with #4 or #5.

If I really wanted a 10mm CCW and wanted to play outside the box; I would encourage you to google Smith & Wesson CS40 and 4013 conversions.

If you are not much of a Glock person, buy the Ruger and a smaller pile of ammo. No need to settle if you don't have to. If you roll your own, ammo cost is not bad. Otherwise, off the shelf is $20/50 Armscor and $25/50 for American Eagle @ Rural King in Jasper. I think I remember seeing the Ruger at some point in there as well.
I have a Glock 40 that I wander the woods of Perry with, but if I were looking for a 1911 10mm, I like the Remington R1 Hunter. Not really concealable, I know, but I don't worry about that much in the woods.

Get one of the new SA RO elite operators in 10mm. I don't own one but would love to hear a review:):

I cannot imagine why anyone would carry a 10mm for self defense, other than for big bears.

That said, I shot Armchair Operator's G20 a year ago and it felt and shot very much like my G19. Not near the recoil one would expect and I hit every little piece of steel that I aimed at.

I have a EAA, a S&W 1006, and a STI 2011 Perfect 10 with 6" barrel. I like the 1911 best but would take the EAA over the Glock any day of the week. Had a Glock and just did not like the way it handled. The STI will out shoot all 3 but the EAA will give it a run for the money.

I carry the STI as it will carry 13-22 rounds based on the length of the mag I have in it. I can load lite or almost in the .41 mag range. I have carried a 1911 for 50 years so it shoots where I want it to.

I have a Razorback and love it, but would never carry just due to the fact that I wouldn't want it to spend time in the lock-up should I ever have to use it for self-defense. Same with the Bobtail Commander 1911 in 10mm that AllenM made for me.

The G20 is a big pistol, and I didn't like trying to conceal it.

I carry a G29 OWB in cold weather when I wear more/heavier clothing and it is easier to conceal. Need to find a good IWB holster to try in warm weather.

There are a lot of options in 10mm these days.
The SA offerings mentioned would be my go to choices but hey, whats new.

The Ruger offering gets good reviews from all who own them

I've always liked the look of the Colt Delta Elite but hear they don't handle full power 10mm loads very well. Truth? :dunno:

    How's about a revolver?

The last couple winters, my Glock 20 sf has been my EDC. With 180 Gr Underwood XTP's.

Its literally a blast to shoot.
