Took it to the range today...just curious as to why at 15 yards it is pretty much dead on. And at 25 yards it is low and right. A good foot of center.... is 25 yards to far for a 1911??? Was using Blazer brass 230 gr.

There could be any number of reasons for this.
We shoot 25yds off hand easily and out to 100 with the proper ammo. Not shooting groups at 100 but full size steel.
Are you using good trigger discipline.

I tend to agree with CM. try again with some sort of steady rest under your hand. it's more likely that the extra distance is exposing some sort of flinch. At 15 yards it may not manifest all that much, but at 25 yards it might. Same reason sighting in a rifle is a lot harder at 100 yards than 50 if you're starting from scratch.
25 yards is a long shot for a pistol, even the famed 1911.

We practice at 50yds on the steel at MCF&G.......I avg 7 of 8 or 9 of 10 depending on the mags. On a good day 8 for 8.
    25 is a cake walk.

My first 1911 (1991a1 compact) shot 2” high at 5-7 yards. At 15-20 it was dead on. I never understood that gun. Why a 3.5” bbl .45 would be “sighted” to 20 yards. Everyone who shot it noticed the same thing. The closer you were the higher it shot

CM is on the right track 1843. Trigger discipline is just one of the four step process to shooting very accurately. Most quality made American guns and Ammo are seldom the problem.
