Im looking for info on what my 1911 maybe worth. It is a Union Switch and Signal frame and a Remington Rand slide. Has an arsenal mark of RA or BA. Very minor wear on the slide. Any help is appreciated.

The frame dates to 1943. Not sure on value. Someone wiser to 1911 war horses will be along soon. I have a friend looking for that vintage.

The price on those guns will surprise you.
I'd call it in the $1K range as well BUT.... It can well do north of $1,600. There are buyers for that gun just waiting for it.

A UNion Switch and Signal frame might be desirable to a guy trying to find a mate for a slide, so it might have some collector interest out there. Though it looks like the gun has been parkerized.

Tell me what the timing was during WWII when Parkerization of small arms was adopted? The process was around years before 1939 but it seems you're suggesting that 1911s produced during the war were blued. I honestly am interested in the history.

Assuming your 1911 was a service pistol, it appears to be service grade and valued at $1,050. Service grade would be minor wear, good grips, and functioning. The army's armorer would swap parts and your mix master would have been a good candidate for a rearmor to karaoke.

Field grade would be $950. Minor rust, pitting, and wear, good grips, and functioning.

Rack grade would be $850. Rust, pitting, and wear, miss matched grips or cracks, and requires work to function.
