Anyone have a Miroku Liberty Chief .38 out there? I've got one with some issues and am working with a gunsmith on getting it back running. However, as parts are scare, we are looking to see if we can get some reference pictures from someone with a working one, so we can see what the parts should look like (particularly around the hammer and hand spring).

My LGS has one that I did some work on a few months back. It would be a few days before I get up to see him. He would let me take pics of the internals for you.

If you could do that, it would be very much appreciated!

I saw that before and it’s always an option. Unfortunately, that parts kit is already $50 more than I paid for my gun.

Here on the hammer assembly, it looks like either part was filed off or broke off, which might explain why the gun currently only works in double action (hammer won't lock back in single).

My guess is that it was filed off. DAO conversions seem to be fairly common with carry revolvers.

That was my thought. Either they were making it DAO (though I would have assumed they would then bob the hammer) or they were trying to lighten the single action trigger pull and messed up.

It might be a California gun. They had the great idea that accidentally shooting someone in single action was premeditated while DA was not.

I will be seeing my LGS tomorrow (4/4) and get some pics for you.

It isn't really a clone. They kind of used a mix of Colt and S&W throughout. They had several models and they all lock up tight with glass like actions.

You could try and re-cut the single action ledge?

Unfortunately, it looks like material would have to be added, with that being a bit chancey. For now, I’m going to have the hammer bobbed and make is more true to form for a DAO. Then I’ll just keep my eye out for a replacement hammer.
