    I have had a S/W 4" 64-7 ($400) & 64-8 ($300) in the past, and many more .357 or .38.
The cylinder was sooo tight and the bore so spotless (until I shot it :draw:).
Picked this up to replace a more expensive home defense gun that just lays in the drawer to reduce the $$ tied up in my "hobby" in retirement, and that's my all-time favorite revolver that I'll ever own: Ruger GP100 Wiley Clapp.

I've been replacing less expensive guns with more expensive ones until now.
Wish me luck in applying that to my 9mm or .22LR guns that I've worked hard to acquire the past 2 yrs. :dunno:

30' with S/A and D/A. the bottom two targets didn't get labeled: D/A on the right, with S/A on left, like the top two.

Currently I have a Wells Fargo with combat grips. It was used by a family member who worked there, but I did verify through the serial number that Wells Fargo purchased it.

And the look-alike to yours, a model 64, but 357 magnum barrel and cylinder, 1 of 2 that I'm aware of.

There is something magical to a classic gun.
I hope you can hold on to them for decades!

There are a couple of old classic guns I had (police revolvers) back 30 years ago and I sold them to my best friend and he still has them in his safe!
It provides me with some comfort that he kept them and enjoyed them.

Nice buy! I was just thinking last night that I hadn't heard from doddg in awhile. How's retirement treating you?

    Been playing with rifles lately!
Retirement: it's been 2 weeks and feels like 2 days.
I have another life with Church and have been teaching extra, and going to some 6 am Men's meetings that I couldn't do while working.
My wife's question of the day is always, "What's on your list to do today?"
Going the the range is not what she wants to hear.
Good news it, I don't have to be in a hurry to go anywhere, b/c I don't have go back to report for work the last week in July. :rockwoot:

Anyone have experience with any bigger grips for this K frame, square butt grip, than the wood ones are on there now.
    Any recommendations?
I can google it, but someone's experience with a bigger grip would be welcome: thanks!

I have a model 13 with the standard wood grips (like yours) as well as the larger SaW wood target grips. The bigger ones feel great, but there kinda bulky and not a retro-cool looking IMHO.

I like a big and bulky grip, and it's only a house gun with occasional range use.
I had a Ruger Security Six with small wood grips and with large wood grips, and I loved the grip of the large ones (never even tried the small grips since I never CC the gun: looking back I should have just kept that gun but I had to go down the road to try out a Colt Cobra and Ruger GP100 Wiley Clapp.
But, the S/W revolvers I've had in the past have been good guns.
The stock grips just don't grip right for me on the 10-6, just not quite right, even though I can shoot it straight enough, it is nothing compared to the natural grip on the GP100 Wiley Clapp that I'm selling.

I had a Model 13 3" barrel. I really liked it. It was an old one. I sold it to my brother when I got my 586 4". Kinda wish I had kept it for a car gun. My brother said he would sell it back to me. I guess I don't really want it bad enough.:)

Congrats on the ‘new’ Model 10. I’m running Altamont faux ivory’s on mine and love the gun set up that way. The other grips I’m fond of are the Pachmayers. Hogues are on the large side for me.

Eagle grips have a crap fit and are not worth the money IMHO.

Ordered the large Hogue monogrip and they are supposed to arrive tomorrow.
I saw the Pachmayrs but I have had the Hogue on other guns and they've fit well for me.

Here is the target grip. It's fatter and has a thumb rest on the left grip.

Great, I'll never be happy again after seeing that barrel :dunno: :wow:
    Is that a 10" or just a "little "8"?

I just changed some Hogues back to factory targets on a couple model19s. If I’d seen this sooner, I would have given you a set of them. They are functional...but not as pretty as factory wood grips.
