    Cap guns or homemade trinkets... the frames look to be zinc.

    Home made, probably all by the same individual. Frames look to be cast (zinc alloy?), but done pretty well. Coiled main spring suggests these are somewhat recent. If these were around 100 years old (or more), they would've used v-springs.

    Thatís a pretty good idea. It keeps them from getting lost again and letís others appreciate or maybe guess at what they are.
