I recently sold what would be described as my “carry” gun and have been watching the classified ads here as well as elsewhere. Today I went to Cabela’s and purchased a S&W Shield 9mm. (Gen 1)

    Retail price. $299.00
    Immediate rebate. 50.00
    Mail in rebate. 50.00
    Military 5% discount. 15.00
    Cabela bucks. 31.00
    Plus sales tax. 10.00. ( I think )

Net cost to me $162.00 +/-

Congrats! Nice deal for sure. I had one, sold it. Regretted selling it so I bought a new one. I really like them for carry and the feel is similar to my 2.0 Compact Smith. I like keeping things simple.

Go back, you stole it and you know it, your conscience will not let you sleep.
(Actually you should have bought two at that price) (IMHO).
Deal of the day, for sure.

That is an incredible buy! :yesway: Of course it also means for those like me that bought a Shield a few years ago - we'll really take a beating trying to sell or trade.

I took a beating on one I sold this past summer. Near perfect condition with Apex DCAEK and al trigger, Ameriglo CAP sights and two holsters for much less than I paid for the replacement Shield I purchased after I realized I made a mistake selling it in the first place.

Oh well, lesson's learned. I'm done now. I have thinned my herd down to near nothing at this point so I see no reason to thin anymore.

I just bought the 380 Shield EZ from my LGS. He was about $30 more than I found online but after transfer, I would have only saved $5. I was going to get the 9mm for $199, but didn't have enough to buy 2 guns. This 380 will serve the purpose of having another gun in the house but more importantly something my wife might carry. She can rack regular slides but has early onset of RA, so I thought this might be worth the little extra money down the road.

I got a Rural King text yesterday (7 Dec 19) and I noted they were selling 9mm Shields at a ridiculous price of $209, better check your local ad or store quick!

I just picked mine up yesterday. $259 with a $50 S&W rebate - That's practically giving them away!

When I picked mine up, they had a shopping cart with about a 1/2 dozen Shields sitting behind the counter. I asked the sales guy, "how many of these Shields did you guys sell with this cyber week sale?" He replied, "well, let me put it this way... yours is about the 15th or 20th transfer I've done.... and we still haven't got all of them in yet."
