    $350 to $1000...

The 28 was a nice budget conscience option from SW. You might be around the mid range of value but age, condition, boxes, grips, etc. will all influence value. Pics and Model # would help to give you a better estimate. Not a great local market either (or so it seems to me).

If you look at Gunbroker for pricing; that is probably higher than what it might bring in the Great State of Indiana? Who knows...

Is it an actual "Highway Patrolman"?
Or is it a mdl 28 Highway Patrolman?
    4 or 6in barrel?
An actual HP, (5 screw) before S&W designated mdl #'s in 1957, would be worth more.
    As would a 4in, seems to carry a premium over a 6in.

I bought a new model #28 Highway Patrolman in early 1970s. Paid $200 for it in a local gun shop. I shot thousands and thousands of rounds thru it ( I reload ). Owned it for many years and regret the day I sold it.
