Every year, Shooting Illustrated staff members gather to review the firearms, optics, gear and ammunition launched in the past year. Out of this group, they choose the best of each category, which become the recipients of the next year's Golden Bullseye awards. For 2020, SI staffers chose the Mossberg MC1sc as the Handgun of the Year.

Magazines are barely worth the time anymore, it's mostly paid endorsements and fake news. I subscribed to guns and ammo for ever and finally stopped renewing a couple years ago.

Anyone who has shot one of these (and some other fairly new entries to the market to compare it to) think similar? I admit, I have not shot one, not interested in owning one, and can't imagine it being the handgun of the year.

I used to subscribe to G&A too and later Shooting Times. I recall Dick Metcalf in Shooting Times praising the crisp 6.7lb trigger pull of a Ruger rifle and that was enough for me.

Handgun of the year , these rags should have gone out of business after the Remington R51 disaster and their high praise of that pistol

I actually have a buddy that has one. He seems to like it well enough. I got to handle and shoot it a little while back. It was fine. Not necessarily something I’m interested in, and it definitely felt a little “cheap,” but to each their own. Pistol of the year though? Meh... doubt it.

I had to do a quick google to make sure I don't misrepresent anything here, but i believe all these guns were released in 2019:
    Walther PPQ Q5 Steel Frame
    KelTec CP33
    CZ P-10
    Glock 48
    Colt King Cobra
    Springfield Armory Hellcat
    Taurus TX22
    IWI Masada
    Standard Manufacturing S333 Twin-barrel revolver
    Sig Rattler
    Springfield Armory XDM-10mm
    Ruger LCRx-357
And of course, the Handgun of the Year, that mossberg whatchamacallit.
Is the Sig P365XL really over a year old? Time flies...
And, Missed it by a day, the flippin Colt Python!
