Very nice. My buddy has one similar to yours. He was hitting 3" steal targets at 300 yards using Hornady American Gunner 125gr HP. I was really surprised how well it shot for a short barrel.

Yes, that confirms what I have read/heard so far.
I have gotten very good (for me) groups at 100 yards with 125gr ammo. I have not yet had the chance to get to a longer range. Soon...

Made a mistake my buddy said it was a 4" ar500 by 3/8" target. The range was 300 yds though.

How would you describe the recoil compared to say a 16” build? Is it really that obnoxious? Really liking the username “Biscuitsandgravy” wishing I would have been more creative.

I played around with a 16" barrel. Took it out to 150yrds could easily hit 4" plates no problem with a cheap Bushnell 3-9.

Wasnt my cup of tea I guess. Extra steps in hand loading and the pills are twice the price as .224. The fact that it turns into a .45acp when running subs is a bummer.

Running supers for inside of 100yrds on hogs and deer would be ok I guess but I dont go enough so barreled back to 5.56.

I have a 10.5" pistol that I built specifically for deer hunting. At times, I hunt a small patch of woods that limits my line of sight to 50-60 yards, so this makes a perfect short and light rifle. I put a red dot on it for quick sighting with both eyes open. It is easy to miss a small limb on a tree with magnification. First day I shot my deer at 275yrds with my 6.5 Grendel so I'll have to wait until next year to see how it works. At 10" the 300BO ammo has had room to burn all the powder. I wouldn't balk at shooting a deer out to 100 yards, if the opportunity presented itself. Enjoy.
