I just purchased a g43 and was thinking of getting a tungsten guide rod to help with target acquisition. I've read both good and bad reviews. Any advice?

My best G43 help with target aquision on follow up shots was shooting it in local steel matches.

Tip - your support hand grip makes all the difference.

Folks often lose their support hand grip between shots.

Good for a target/competition 1911, but why would you want it in a deep concealment gun?

A tighter and more refined grip will do more for follow up shots than a heavier guide rod will.

Next time at the range try the Ben Stoeger's Controlled Pairs (doubles) drill. I think it covers your needs pretty well.

Perfect, thank you for the input. I will hit the range more with my current setup.

If you are with someone or have a means of self videoing yourself, it can be a very usefull tool to analyze your shooting habits that may not be picked up otherwise.
