A couple of months ago, by accident, I found this Lipsey's Ruger SP 101. Other than not being in stainless steel, it really appeals to me. Do any of you have any experience with this revolver?

Lipsey's Ruger SP 101-a.JPG I really like the idea of a 3" carry gun with adjustable sights. A few years ago, I passed up a 3" Mod. 66 & have regretted that decision ever since. Here's the Lipsey's page showing this revolver. https://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail?itemno=RUSP-332X

That's a great looking gun. I do regret selling my stainless SP101 many years ago. One of the few, I'd like to have back, partly because I'll probably never bring myself to put the $ in to get another one.

I own three 3" revolvers and can shoot them a little more accurate than my 2" in same caliber and size guns. However, the 2" guns conceal much easier.

I have a question.. I have a Security Six, that is a great gun, 2 3/4 in barrel. What is/are the improvements for the GP-100's, and the SP 101's, or at least the differences from the Security/Speed Sixes? Oh OP Beautiful gun! Love the lines!

The 101 was the first revolver I really wanted. When I'd finally saved up some money I wondered into Ludco and good old Fred didn't have any in stock at the time, so he told me they had stopped making them and tried to sell me a gp 100.
I eventually did buy one from our own Funkeecowboy, and picked up a lovely set of badger grips from another member. She's a little big for pocket carry, but what a sweet shooter!

I still have the first SP101 I ever purchased, a 2.25" in .357 magnum, which I bought for myself as a Christmas present in December 1994!
I've had a few SP101's but the 3" model is probably my favorite as the balance feels better and with the slightly (3/4") longer barrel, accuracy is a mite better as well, especially the farther out one goes!
I also still have an older, 6-shot, 4" SP101 in .22 long rifle and by golly I just wish they had made that 4" model in .22 WMR!
What a plinker that would have been!

I liked the solid feel of my 3" SP 101 but for the size, I only got 5 rounds when compared to 6 rounds in the S&W 66, Colt Cobra, or the Kimber K6s which are all of similar size and weight!
